Packet, First Aid Parachutist
Two tie-on "Packets, First Aid Parachutist". Based on an Army Air Corps packet, these were seen in Normandy issued to the Airborne and some first-wave assault troops.

Virtually unworn on helmets in Normandy (only literally a handful of 101st troopers have been noted in photos with the packs on their helmets), they were worn on helmets in greater numbers by the 101st in Holland (including General Taylor), but not by the 82nd. Wearing it tied to your helmet net seems to be one of the "Airborne fads" in the 17th for the Rhine Crossing jump.
The contents of the one of the right are shown below : tourniquet, dressing bandage, and Morphine syrette.
