Pathfinders : North Witham Airfield

The Control Tower and one of the runways.

Although the runways are more or less intact, only one hanger remains along with the ruins of some of the dispersed sites. The main part of the airfield itself has been planted over by the Forestry Commission and is now called Twyford Forest. Ex-military vehicles are sold on part of the technical site, which has been rebuilt as a light industrial area.

Martyn Chorlton has just published an excellent history of RAF North Witham called "Paths in the Wood". It is available from his website Old Forge Publishing
